- Designing circuits for our internal customers that resided on our own network. DS-0, DS1's,
and DS-3's.
- Designing DS-0, Fractional T-1's, DS-1's, and DS-3's through our network up to the point
where we would hand the circuit off to the LEC or IXC carrier.
- Designed Voice circuits that would terminate in a PBX, or Vina box at the customer
location, and then designated the amount of bandwidth the customer wanted to use for Voice,
Data, and Internet. If the customer had other locations, we would design PVC’s for the
branch locations and terminate them on the correct DLCI in our network and the
corresponding DLCI in the LEC or IXC network.
- While in design, I became team lead and had the chance to sit in on round table discussions
on higher profile customer accounts. Giving them an idea where the design aspect would
come in, and if there would be any potential problems that might arise.
- I also had an opportunity to work closely with the IT department in rolling out the People
Soft application. I was part of the team that helped write the design aspect for that program.
- While being team lead, I had the opportunity to work closely with the new hires and help
train them in design and provisioning .
- If there was a new product that was rolled out that needed a design team member to oversee
it, I was the one that got called upon...... (Which I liked very much).
Provisioning: Ensuring that the correct documentation was sent to the right LEC or IXC
company. (5 years)
Responsibilities include: Good computer skills, correct FCC codes used for the ASR, time
management, and good follow-up skills. Good oral and written communications needed
between team members.
- Provisioned ASR’s at the DS-0, Fractional DS-1, DS-1, and DS-3 levels.

- Provisioned ASR’s on our own network, and ASR’s for 1 circuit over multiple networks.
